When can I expect to play?
Teams
will play 3 matches between Wed evening and Saturday
lunchtime. Most teams will play 2 of the 3 weekday
evenings (Wed, Thu and Fri) plus Saturday morning.
Finals will be played Saturday afternoon/early evening.
Is it possible to
request not to play on a given night?
As long as the request
is for only one weekday evening (Wed, Thu or Fri), every
attempt will be made to accommodate such requests.
I’m
from out of town. Can I play?
Yes,
but you will need to be available to play your
team’s first match on Thursday evening.. With the
tournament finishing on Saturday, there is no way we can
start play on Friday. So take Thursday afternoon and
Friday off and enjoy a long weekend in Vancouver!
Who referees?
Before a team match, a
coin is tossed and the losing team referees the first
and third matches, the team winning the coin toss
referees the second match.
What
happens if a player on my team gets injured? Are we
allowed spares?
Replacement players will be allowed provided the
replacing player has a ranking similar to or lower than
the player he/she is replacing. However, teams cannot
enter with more than 3 players in the hopes of “resting”
a player for a match or two. Once replaced, a player
cannot come back in to play.
Where can I park and how
much will it cost?
We will pay for any
tournament participants parking in the Bentall parkade
off Thurlow.
Heading west on Dunsmuir Street (this is a one way
street), turn right on Thurlow then take your first
right (Eveleigh). Turn right into the Bentall parkade
(take the left entrance nearest the booth) and push the
button to take a parking ticket (DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT
CARD, regardless of what the sign says). Proceed to the
club’s front desk for a payment stub that you will use
as payment when exiting the parkade.
What happens if the
team match result is determined before 3rd match is
finished?
As all matches will
count towards provincial rankings, matches must be
played to their conclusion.
